What Did You Learn Today?
by Tina Singer Ames and illustrated by MaryAnn Curzi
Written for children ages 3 and up, this lovely story follows a teacher, Mrs. Mayer and her students. At the end of class each day, Mrs.. Mayer asks her students, "What did you learn today?" Her students share their answers and make Mrs. Mayer smile.
One day, Mrs. Mayer has a limp. She feels weak. She tells her students that she has a disease called ALS and needs a cane. Mrs. Mayer names her cane Ethel and paints sunflowers all over it.
At the end of the day, Mrs. Meyer asks her students her favorite question, "What did your learn today?" "We learned that you can have fun even when bad things happen."
